Our Mascot, Vegas

Vegas Bad to the Bone
Yorkshire Terrier

It is with extreme sadness we report that Vegas has gone on to the Rainbow Bridge where he waits for his Mom and Dad.  We here at Companion Animal Hospital shall all miss our dress up doll with his many wardrobe changes.   (Now he can compare style notes with Michael and Liberace!) We wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to Mary and John, they were awesome puppy parents!

 Run and play little guy!

Born September 19, 2001
Sarcoxie, Missouri

I arrived at Snooty Pets in Las Vegas on November 18, 2001 and on November 20th I met the best doctor in the whole world, Sanjay Verma, DVM. He checked me out, gave me my first (of many) vaccines, medication and most importantly - hugs!

I was then ready for the perfect family to find me.

Adoption Day, to that perfect family, was on December 6, 2001. I still remember it so well. I think this family was looking for a little girl, so I knew I had to work it.  And I sure did, straight to the man of the house. Before you knew it I was on my way to a beautiful high-rise condo near the Las Vegas Strip. What a view and what a lucky day.

Well life as an only puppy is awesome. I quickly trained my family on doing things my way. I learned to use puppy pads because I would not be crate trained. I don’t like to be fenced in so within 2 weeks I learned to jump over the gate, pretty good for 2 pounds of fur. I have never spent a day without my Mom and Dad and I travel in my designer tote bags.

Then came the love of wearing clothes. I started with little scarf’s then discovered hats. I so enjoy hats! The first one was a Cowboy hat. Then came the love of Sunglasses I have quite a collection of those too. Then my Mom started to buy designer clothes for me and it’s amazing how many I have and how perfectly they fit. I can almost dress myself.  Halloween is one of my favorite Holidays as I am known to dress up like Celebrities.  Some of the more notable ones are Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and of course Michael Jackson. I have tell you a little of my clothing dislikes. I don’t like anything on my paws, ever! No shoes, no boots and that glove of Michael Jackson's, I love the camera but... that was the longest, most uncomfortable photo shoot ever.

On the issue of grooming: I have never had a haircut and like the Rock Star look.  You may brush me but I will shake it out into "my look".  My first and favorite toy is a guitar from The Hard Rock Hotel with MY name on it.  Yes I truly am a Rock Star!

Some of my likes and dislikes are as follows: I love jazz music. I don’t like the music from Dancing with the Stars. I like Animal Planet. I don’t like clapping on Award shows EVER. I like going to Puppy Spa for grooming. I do mind my toe nails being clipped. I do like people to look at me. I don’t like when they try to touch me or when other dogs try to sniff my behind or jump on my back. I like to pee and poop outside, makes me feel like a man as I was taught to go inside. I love vacations at the beach and sunbathing. I love playing Frisbee every day not just on vacation. I Love to swim. I don’t like to be in the rain, again it’s a paw thing. I love walks (which are really runs and smell fests for my senses.) I like to protect my house and my family as you can hear my big bark.

I am a lucky dog and would like to thank Dr. Verma for caring for me and making sure I was perfect so I could have the good life I have in Las Vegas.
